What you get from an audit

MentionsAI sells an inspectable work loop: public-page evidence, five buyer-query checks, proposed improvements where supported, customer approval, and a later recheck. It does not sell a guaranteed ranking or citation.

1. Inspect the public site

One paid audit starts at the submitted URL and attempts to inspect up to 10 public, same-domain pages linked from that page. Pages that cannot be fetched are skipped and the report shows the actual page count.

2. Check five buyer queries

Each audit uses exactly five distinct buyer questions, supplied by you or generated from the site. An audit is the billed unit; a query is one check within it. Five queries are a small sample, not a reliable long-term trend.

3. Show the source and failures

The query provider can be Tavily, Serper, OpenAI web search, or Gemini, depending on availability. Tavily and Serper return web-search results: a match there is not a direct citation by ChatGPT, Gemini, or another assistant. Provider errors are shown as failed checks rather than counted as misses.

4. Prepare review-ready work

When the evidence supports a gap, MentionsAI may prepare a content recommendation or draft. Recommendations are not verified facts by themselves. Review every claim against your site, policies, and source pages before approving it.

5. Stage, then recheck

On a supported, verified CMS connection, an explicitly approved draft may be staged for review. Staging is not live publication. Later audits record fresh observations; a change in the score does not by itself prove that a single fix caused it.

Reading a result: The report should be interpreted alongside its provider, source URLs, successful-query count, failed-query count, and audit date. If none of the five queries succeeds, visibility is unavailable—not zero. External search and AI systems can change independently of your website.
